Palo Alto 11.X Lab Installation
As part of the Role we are Migrating from Checkpoint to Palo Alto.
Its been Long time since it was Palo Alto 8.X hands on experience and Lost completely with latest Palo Alto trends, so Like to review my knowledge and hands on so when we Migrate to Palo Alto its much easy for me to troubleshoot and Monitor the Palo Alto device.
In this Lab i am going to use Palo alto Image 11.X version to testing some available features.
i believe we may need trail License to get all the features working, Let me setup and ask for Demo Licese to work on more advanced Features.
My Setup Exsi 8.0
Palo Alto OVA automatically choose the compute resources, not changed anything major part of the setup see how this works for now.
CPU 2
RAM – 6GB
HDD – 60GB
1 Ethernet
when i start it will 5min and able to get DHCP automatically from my Home Router as below :

After 2 min i get Login prompt – no hard until here :

Make sure you understand the Login Prompt :
vm login: --> still booting
PA-HDF login: --> still booting
PA-VM login: --> Now you can login
default admin/admin, then ask you to change the password.

Then use GUI https://192.168.1.72

Get the Trail License from PALO (this is hard to get – i do not know why PALO not offer trail here for all the users to test their feature before buying, any way this is Palo own terms and wide users accepting – Personally they should have 90days unlimited License for the wide admin to get hands on LAB, that is where where more professionals of PaloAlto Security engineers will be in the market to support)
You want to SN Number :
> show system info | match serial
> request license info - you will see what License you have
Let me look at some features and post the next Blog with a more detailed Security point of view
Happy Labbinggggggggggggggggggggggggg!
